About the Haus
A few years ago, Empress Sabreena was inspired by a “King and Queen of Hearts” contest thrown by the Imperial Court to highlight Valentines Day. This pageant-style contest awarded King and Queen titles as Civic titles within the IICLB.
In 2014, Sabreena raised the concept to a new level by launching the King and Queen of Hearts fundraising contest. The month-long contest kicked off a year-long campaign to raise funds, engage with community, and represent the Imperial Court in a fresh new way.
This small but mighty effort grew year over year, raising tens of thousands of dollars, building relationships, and creating a platform for more outreach and engagement.
In its second year, the King and Queen of Hearts model also served as the template for the then 3M now 4M fundraising contest.
King and Queen of Hearts evolved to “Haus of Hearts Royalty” to be all-inclusive regardless of gender identity.
Over these years, Sabreena has developed fun, energetic fundraising teams volunteering as part of the International Imperial Court of Long Beach. She says of her experience, “This event series allows me to help mentor candidates to be of service by being themselves and by being passionate about our community. I’m very proud of how far Hearts has come and look forward to it growing for years to come.”
